RoscoeThis furry orange creation is the mascot for the Milwaukee Admirals, named Roscoe. There were two characters created, and Chad Costen and I both helped create them. I made the basic head form, snout, cheeks, hat, shoes, and nose, (it's a hockey puck, btw) he made the lower jaw, and eyebrows, and most of the finishing and sewing. We both helped with the eyes. Our supervisors wanted us to make the eyes seperate even though they were clearly drawn in the artwork as joined together in the middle, so we defied thier orders and devised a new way of joining the eyes together, so this is the first time a Street Character has had joined eyes. The Admirals were particularily impressed with the eyes when the got the costumes. The following is an excerpt from an article I found on the Admirals Website: "Additionally, the Admirals new mascot "Roscoe" was introduced. Roscoe is a fun-loving hockey fan, covered in orange fur, sporting a t-shirt with the Admirals new logo. "We are in an entertainment business and the new mascot adds to that package," Wittliff stated. Roscoe will be a permanent fixture at all the Admirals games. " |
